Sapporo Snow Festival, Early February

The Sapporo Snow Festival is a major winter event in Sapporo. There are three venues, each with a different atmosphere. At the Odori venue, snow and ice sculptures of various sizes stand in a row from Odori Park Nishi 1-chome to Nishi 11-chome, and are lit up at night. The Tsudome venue hosts a giant slide and various indoor and outdoor events where visitors can interact with snow, while the Susukino venue features an ice sculpture contest, illuminated ice sculptures, ice bars, and more.
